Later, after the kids know better how to count, the game can move to the next level: instead of drawing the cards, each child will have to memorize a number to know when it is their turn to fall down. The children will have to point who is the one who will fall down, based on their numbers. They will have to fall down one by one until all of them will lay down, each time they say the verse: “And if one green bottle should accidentally fall”. ![]() Is your kid crazy about counting This number chart gives him a real counting challenge in naming the numbers up to 100. All calculations are made according to the currently configured time zone and daylight saving 'rule'. Therefore no attempt is made to account for time zone, daylight saving, or leap seconds in past dates. Unlike desktop counterparts, it is impractical to implement or maintain the 'zoneinfo' database. The macros UNIX_OFFSET and NTP_OFFSET are defined to assist in converting to and from Unix and NTP time stamps. The use of this 'epoch' helps to simplify the conversion functions, while the 32 bit value allows time to be properly represented until Tue Feb 7 06:28:15 2136 UTC. This implementation uses an unsigned 32 bit integer offset from Midnight Jan 1 2000. ![]() Though not specified in the standard, it is often expected that time_t is a signed integer representing an offset in seconds from Midnight Jan 1 1970. Once initialized, system time is maintained by calling the function system_tick() at one second intervals. The functions set_zone(), set_dst(), and set_system_time() are provided for initialization. Therefore the application must initialize the time system with this information. There is no 'platform standard' method to obtain the current time, time zone, or daylight savings 'rules' in the AVR environment. In addition to the above departures from the standard, there are some behaviors which are different from what is often expected, though allowed under the standard. ![]() The 'Z' conversion is also ignored, due to the lack of time zone name. Section 7.23.3.5 strftime() Only the 'C' locale is supported, therefore the modifiers 'E' and 'O' are ignored. This implementation further specifies that, when positive, the value of tm_isdst represents the amount time is advanced during Daylight Saving time. Section 7.23.1.4 struct tm Per the standard, struct tm->tm_isdst is greater than zero when Daylight Saving time is in effect. In most cases this change will be invisible to the user, handled automatically by the compiler. Section 7.23.2.2, difftime() Due to the lack of a 64 bit double, the function difftime() returns a long integer. Since the application must initialize the time system, this functionality is not implemented. Section 7.23.2.4 time() The standard specifies that time() should return (time_t) -1, if the time is not available. This implementation always returns a 'best effort' representation. Section 7.23.2.3 mktime() The standard specifies that mktime() should return (time_t) -1, if the time cannot be represented. We consider these items belong to operating system code, or to application code when no operating system is present. Section 7.23.2.1 clock() The type clock_t, the macro CLOCKS_PER_SEC, and the function clock() are not implemented. However, due to limitations of the target processor and the nature of its development environment, a practical implementation must of necessity deviate from the standard. The brief opening title track features Carla Morrison's hovering lead vocal atop nature sounds, dubwise snares, a hand clap loop, and an orchestral organ before giving way to the spiny club strutter that is "Mi Gente," with its skittering percussion and impassioned vocals. Working once more with producer Sky Rompiendo el Bajo (Alejandro Ramírez), the set moves reggaeton in new directions with its arresting and often intoxicating multi-hued sonic rainbow. Vibras is Balvin's worthy attempt to reach Anglo audiences on his terms, not with the canny fusions of urban styles, EDM, and pop he delivered on Energia, but through unabashed reggaeton without concessions to the English language. In other words, he has been riding a wave that shows no signs of cresting. In addition, Balvin and Bad Bunny were collaborators on Cardi B's wacky boogaloo single "I Like It." Just prior to Vibras' release, Balvin and Nicky Jam collaborated on the number one "X/Equs." Finally, Balvin's and Michael Brun's "Positivo" was selected by Telemundo as the network's official theme for the FIFA World Cup. The video has amassed nearly two billion views. The explosive impact of 2015's chart-topping global crossover "Ginza" was a lead-in to the following year's full-length Energia, whose dazzling array of styles topped the Latin charts and remained there for 99 weeks, helping set the stage for the Luis Fonsi-Daddy Yankee game changer "Despacito." Balvin's and Willy William's "Mi Gente" ended the reign of that single after a 35-week run, topping charts in two successively released versions - the one here and the Beyonce remix. Library programming on LGBTQ history or 19th-century literary figures could make good use of The Trials of Oscar Wilde. What type of library programming could use this title? If coy by today's standards, it's a fair accounting of Oscar Wilde's life from 1895-1897, and Finch's performance deserves to be remembered alongside his acclaimed turns in Sunday Bloody Sunday and Sidney Lumet's Network for which the actor would win a posthumous Oscar for playing his best-loved character, a freethinking media personality like Wilde: "mad as hell" evening newscaster Howard Beale. John Simon, a famously rigorous film critic, proclaimed The Trials of Oscar Wilde "an unjustly neglected movie," and he's not wrong (though it's better remembered than the other Wilde biopic released in 1960). If Hughes' film, which draws from John Furnell's play The Stringed Lute and Montgomery Hyde's book The Trials of Oscar Wilde, avoids words like "gay" and "queer," it's always clear what's going on, and Finch makes Wilde a sympathetic, if self-sabotaging figure-even as the director downplays the injustices he suffered, like the poor health prison life engendered. In addition, John Fraser would acknowledge his homosexuality in his 2004 memoir. Though Peter Finch wasn't gay, he would make history when he kissed Murray Head in John Schlesinger's Sunday Bloody Sunday, a minor gesture now that made the film controversial in its day. The film ends with him trading London for Paris-for good. While the Marquess emerges unscathed, Wilde serves a sentence of two years of hard labor. Hughes depicts the ensuing trials where evidence sways juries against him, from a love letter to Bosie to testimony from Bosie's low-life associates, including a valet who had attempted to blackmail Wilde by making the letter public. Instead of letting it go, Wilde accuses him of libel. He gets his wish with The Importance of Being Earnest, but his high spirits come to an end when the Marquess accuses him of "posing as a sodomite," a crime in the UK of the 19th century. Wilde pays Bosie's hotel, restaurant, and tailoring bills, even as his own finances are stretched thin, though it encourages him to work even harder to produce another hit play. Though the film gives no indication if they consummated their relationship, unlike 1997's Wilde-which definitively answers that question-Wilde lavishes attention on the young man, particularly after the Marquess disinherits him. Wilde, unfortunately, was playing with fire when he took up with Bosie, a poet 16 years his junior. Hughes uses the occasion to introduce his wife, Constance (Yvonne Mitchell), his great friend, Lord Alfred "Bosie" Douglas ( Repulsion's John Fraser), and his greatest foe, the Marquess of Queensberry ( Stage Fright's Lionel Jeffries), Bosie's disapproving father. It begins during the London premiere of Lady Windermere's Fan, where Wilde, signature green carnation pinned to his lapel, revels in the adulation. Though the film was not a box office success, Finch would garner acclaim for his work. After seeing the movie, I almost immediately hunted for the text of the play and read it straight through.Though Peter Finch wasn't director Ken Hughes' first choice for the lead in 1960's The Trials of Oscar Wilde, he seems more fitting than Laurence Olivier or Alec Guinness (it doesn't hurt that he was also a published poet). Everett, a sweet supporting cast, not to mention the beautiful production values. ![]() Can't remember the last time that happened, can you?
